Gloss shows the order and emphasis of the signs. It is BSL-informed guidance, not a graded model answer.

Handshape
Is each handshape clear and held long enough to be read?
Placement and movement
Do the signs happen in the right place, with a clear start and finish?
Face and expression
Do your eyebrows, mouth pattern and expression match the meaning, including questions and negatives?
Rhythm and pacing
Is the pace even, with small pauses between ideas rather than rushing?
Framing and eye contact
Are your hands, face and upper body all in shot, with eye contact kept up?
Fingerspelling
Are any spelled names or words steady, in one place and readable letter by letter?
