One place for signed support across The ALFI EDIE Framework and the standalone Sign Languages tools. Type or speak in English and view signed output with captions, gloss and handshape descriptions; practise with your own camera on-device; use phrasebooks, lessons, conversation mode and reviewed signed screens.

Signed output is a BSL-informed signed-equivalent gloss, always paired with captions so meaning never depends on the animation alone. Words without a lexical sign are fingerspelled and listed openly. For safeguarding, medical, legal, employment or emergency conversations, a qualified interpreter is required — this studio supports them, it does not replace them.

Local mode keeps phrases, practice recordings, lessons and settings on the device you are using.

Cloud features are optional and labelled before you start. Signing content is never described as approved BSL until a named reviewer has checked it.

  • Speed, dominant hand, captions, contrast and screen size are all user-controlled and remembered on your device.
  • Nothing you type or speak is uploaded — translation and voice run in your browser.
